Terry Fox was an athlete and humanitarian, who started the Marathon of Hope in 1980. Terry would run on one leg as the other was amputated due to cancer. The goal was to run a marathon per day from Newfoundland to British Columbia. Terry made the run to just outside Thunder Bay, Ontario, where he had to stop as cancer had come to his lungs.
The result has been the annual Terry Fox Run which has raised nearly $700 million for cancer research, which has produced drugs such as prednisone, cyclophosphamide, cyclosporine, mycophenolate mofetil, rituximab and vincristine. To fight Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (TTP), these drugs may be used to suppress antibodies of the immune system. This suppression must occur to stop the progress of TTP.

We love Terry Fox as he was a hero to cancer patients, family members, researchers and Canada. Terry's progress and the annual Terry Fox Run has shown funding can be reached to make a difference in stopping cancer and other diseases.
We hope we can also make a difference for TTP patients, family and researchers by providing charitable funds through Answering TTP to help solve the TTP puzzle.
Thanks,
@BruceFightsTTP
